WHAT IS SIBLINGHOOD ACADEMY?
Siblinghood Academy is an afterschool year-long program where young people are encouraged to explore their leadership skills and abilities through SNLP style classes. Each class is designed to have Nashers think about identity, womanism, important social concepts, building healthy relationships, and more, in creative ways.
We also offer the M.P.J. (Marsha P. Johnson) Siblinghood program that is a virtual siblinghood program specifically for trans and gender-expansive youth to participate in workshops around community building, identity, leadership, media, healthy relationships, wellness, youth activism, and social justice within LGBTQ+ history and spaces.
DURING THE PROGRAM NASHERS:
-
Engage in workshops around identity, healthy relationships, media, youth activism, and unique topics they are interested in
-
Participate in field trips and conferences to explore their community and strengthen their confidence, communication, and other leadership skill
The Siblinghood Academy is all about building community and engaging in conversations with other young people about their shared experiences as youth! This program aims to strengthen the confidence and leadership styles of its participants!
